About
An independent research practice for patent work in software and technology.
Anteclaim provides technical patent research to intellectual property professionals: law firms, patent attorneys and agents, and in-house IP teams. We are based in Switzerland and work with clients internationally.
The practice was set up around a simple observation. In software and computing patents, the hard part of research is rarely running searches. It is understanding what a claim actually requires, recognising the same mechanism when it is described in different words, and documenting the evidence so precisely that counsel can rely on it.
That is a technical skill as much as a search skill. Our work starts from the technology — architectures, protocols, data flows and implementation detail — and is backed by systematic search and careful documentation. We use modern software tooling to work efficiently, but what we deliver is finished research with every finding traceable to its source.
Anteclaim is a new practice. We don’t publish client names or testimonials, and we won’t invent them. Instead, we publish sample research so you can judge the quality of the work directly.
How we work
Specialised, not general
We focus on software and computing patents, where technical reading matters most and terminology varies most. We decline work outside that focus rather than stretch.
Evidence over assertion
A finding is only as good as the source behind it. We cite precisely, and we say so when evidence is thin.
Research, not legal advice
We work alongside counsel. Our job is to find and document technical evidence; legal conclusions are yours.
Clear commercial terms
Fixed fees for agreed scopes, written quotations and no obligation until you accept.
Professional boundaries
Anteclaim is a technical research provider. It is not a law firm, a patent attorney practice or a registered patent agency, and it does not provide legal representation or legal opinions. Our reports describe technical evidence and its relationship to the claims or questions investigated. Determinations of validity, infringement, patentability or freedom to operate are legal judgements for qualified professionals.
